Maurice Wright Hart Jr. "Bud” went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2010, in Tallahassee, Florida at the age of 85. Bud was raised in Coral Gables FL where he graduated from Ponce de Leon High School class of 1942. He then entered the US Navy V-5 training program at Murray State Teachers College in Murray KY. He was later stationed in Jacksonville FL.
After the war he returned to Miami and went into business with his father manufacturing rattan furniture. He met Carlene Gianotti at a dance, and fell in love at first sight. Maurice and Caelene married in 1950. They had a daughter Floy in 1951, a son Harry in 1952, another son Bill in 1955, and a daughter Joy in 1957.
Maurice was an entrepreneur, owning Royalty Designs in Hialeah, FL, a plastics manufacturing company best known for making the "Iggy Doll” in 1964. He then went on to manufacture rolled plastic roofing and many other plastic toys. He later went into business with his son Harry; they sold Oil filtration systems, and Halon fire extinguishers. Their final business together was a chimney sweep and carpet-cleaning venture. In the late 1970’s Maurice retired and moved to Sky Valley GA., where he became a police officer. He and his wife Carlene moved to Tallahassee, FL in 2000, to live with his son Harry. He died of lung cancer in June 2010. His wife of almost 60 years, Carlene Gianotti Hart, passed just a month later.
He loved his family, fishing and the outdoors. He is survived by his children, Floy Hart Shuler (Joe) of Holly Hill, SC, Harry Hart (Phylis) of Tallahassee, Bill Hart (Reese) of Jacksonville, Joy Hart Senen (Ed) of Schnecksville, PA; cousins, Arthur Scott (Lynn) in Atlanta, GA, Joe Scott (Anne) of NC; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and longtime caregiver/best friend, Linda Johnson.
